State Units (Chapters) are also a part of ACA and serve collection professionals with needs specific to their states. 

ACA International, the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals, is a comprehensive, knowledge-based resource for success in the credit and collection industry. 

Founded in 1939, ACA brings together third-party collection agencies, law firms, asset buying companies, creditors, and vendor affiliates, representing more than 150,000 industry employees. ACA establishes ethical standards, produces a wide variety of products, services, and publications, and articulates the value of the accounts receivable management industry to businesses, policymakers and consumers. The state and regional units affiliated with ACA operate as separate, independently incorporated associations covering one or more states. These autonomous organizations maintain their own governance and operations while sharing industry goals with ACA. They serve members as local industry resources for information, education, state legislative advocacy, and more.⯠
